First of all happy Earth Day!

What are you doing for the earth today? We are working at an off the grid eco-lodge this week and taking walks in the woods to learn more about the little plants and critters that are our neighbours.

In the spirit of Earth Day we want to let you know about a unique crowd source funded by by Outdoor Photography Canada magazine contributor Don Komarechka. Here is what Don has to say about the project:

The book, titled “Sky Crystals: Unraveling the Mysteries of Snowflakes” will be 300 pages, hardcover, and detail all of the photographs, photographic techniques, physics, and even philosophy (why do we find snowflakes beautiful in the first place?). Here’s a link to the project. The book is being crowd-funded on indiegogo, and a $35 contribution will get you a copy of the book when it’s released later this year in October. About two weeks ago , we hit the funding goal and the book will definitely be produced. All additional contributions will still receive their perks (higher perks for bigger contributions too), and the extra funds will be rolled right back into the project to make a better book and bigger production run.

We think any book, eBook, slide show or project that uses the power of photography to make people appreciate and care for the earth is a good thing. You protect what you know and love!

Thanks so much for spreading the word, Darwin! Your support for such a project is very much appreciated.

Thanks too Stephen and Les! Glad you both appreciate my work, and I can’t wait to have the book published – just in time for the snow to start falling again!
