Our Adventurers

This instructional photo adventure is for photographers with a keen interest in immersing themselves in a stunning natural location with a small group of like-minded individuals. All skill levels are welcome, but an understanding of the basics of photography will ensure you get the most out of the opportunity. Please be advised that you should be fit enough to walk with your gear for one or two hours over the course of the day in winter conditions over at times uneven terrain. While we generally do not travel far from our vehicles, you will get the most out of the locations with a reasonable level of fitness. Participants are required to sign a standard liability waiver and medical form. As well, there are some clothing and equipment needs to ensure your comfort, safety and full access to the Lake and surrounding areas. A checklist of recommended photo and personal gear is provided to participants two months prior to the event. A key feature of the Winter Discovery Photo Adventures is their responsiveness to photographers’ needs: the events are loosely structured around weather and conditions so daily itineraries may vary to suit photographic opportunities and the group’s learning goals. Depending on weather and conditions, our journeys may take us as far afield as Banff and Jasper National Parks, but we will concentrate our photographic efforts in this quiet corner of the Canadian Rockies.

Please note travel costs to and from the Lodge and touring costs during the event are not included in the package price. However, we will carpool to minimize the impact on both the environment and your pocket.

To reserve your space please contact Aurum Lodge (info@aurumlodge.com   Tel: 1-403-721-2117).

Cancellation Policy

In order to guarantee that these small-group events proceed, a $500 plus 5% GST (CDN) registration fee is required to reserve your spot. The remaining fee (total cost less the registration fee) is due 60 days before the start of the Winter Discovery Photo Adventure. Failure to pay the remaining fee when due will result in cancellation of your registration. Please note the registration fee and remaining tuition fee are non-refundable in the event you are unable to attend the workshop. We highly recommend you obtain travel insurance to cover the risk of unforeseen circumstances preventing you from attending.

Please also note we are unable to make any guarantees regarding the weather, condition of the bubbles or access to the Lake and are unable to accept transfers or cancellations due to the vagaries of Mother Nature.
